Fri., Oct. 21: Bono, the lead singer of U2 and co-founder of DATA (Debt, AIDS, Trade, Africa), headlined the World Affairs Council of Philadelphia program at Irvine Auditorium on Penn's campus. In town to receive the Council's International Statesman Award, Bono spoke of the urgent need to address the crises of poverty, AIDS and international debt in Africa.
