Sun., June 19: Seventy-five-year-old bluesman George Higgs performs at the National Liberty Museum's Juneteenth event, celebrating the day Texas slaves were finally informed the Civil War was over and they were free. Born to a family of sharecroppers in Speed, N.C., Higgs has been playing the blues and performing for more than 60 years.
