Senator John Eichelberger, a Republican from Blair County, last week pissed off most Pennsylvanians who do not harbor an irrational fear of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender people when he, during a Radio Times debate over same-sex marriage, said "They’re not being punished. We’re allowing them to exist, and do what every American can do. We’re just not rewarding them with any special designation." The man just redefined tolerance to mean “refrain from committing genocide” for chrissake.
Keystone Progress has an action alert on the subject here.
But while Senator Eichelberger might be generous in exercising the power of God over the state's homosexuals, he apparently wants to destroy your laptop! On Wednesday, a search of his name revealed a Google warning that his website “may harm your computer"—the site has since been declared safe to peruse. Perhaps one of his crack interns turned up some data suggesting that the gays are swarming the interwebs, or something.
In May, Eichelberger got a big press release high-five from Pennsylvania for Marriage—which I suppose uploads unauthorized photos of tacky wedding dresses onto the computers of unsuspecting visitors—when he reintroduced a bill to pass a constitutional amendment barring same-sex marriage in Pennsylvania.
Progressives now have a bill legalizing same-sex marriage to get behind, but as I’ve previously noted, we should not, I repeat not, lose sight of the prize, which for now is House Bill 300, which would move PA out of the dark ages by prohibiting discrimination based on sexual orientation and gender identity. This is a really necessary first step, folks.
Political red meat aside, you'd think that defenders of hetero-civilization like Eichelberger and P4M would be pumped about a mass of starry-eyed and lovesick homosexuals lining up to rejuvenate the quaint and increasingly unpopular institution of marriage? But no, they're holding on tight, ready to go down with the bigoted and sinking ship of a Republican electoral strategy based on fear mongering and hate. Bon voyage.

“There is a difference between existing and living. My cardiologist would rather I strictly adhere to my diet, to do so would be to exist, he allows me to live my life by occasioanally enjoying the things I shouldn't really have. I would rather my gay friends be able to live their lives not just exist. There is a big difference!”

“I am so tired of so called christians doing the work of the Lord in the name of bigotry , hate and fear of what is different I am a proudly gay female that loves the Lord and the God that I serve doesnt promote hatred because he is a God of Love and compassion and he sent his Son so that we may have life and have it more abundant and that my friends isnt just existing so I believe that all should have the same rights as anyone else we are all human regardless of who we choose to love!!!”
