Apparently I'm PW's resident Star Trek nerd, because half my colleagues here e-mailed me this press release from the Franklin Institute:

Have you ever dreamed of getting married on the bridge of Star Trek’s U.S.S. Enterprise?  This summer, The Franklin Institute, in partnership with WMMR-FM, is giving away a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to have the ultimate Star Trek Wedding - inside the Exhibition!  The Franklin Institute is looking for couples whose dream would be to get married or renew vows on the bridge of the Enterprise inside STAR TREK: THE EXHIBITION.   The winning couple – determined by online public vote – will plan a ceremony aboard the bridge in the Exhibition and a reception inside The Franklin Institute!

To enter the on-line competition, fans are asked to submit a photo and a short paragraph by June 24 on why they should be selected as the couple to win the Star Trek wedding.  A group of local expert judges will vote on their favorite couples from all of the entries received.  Photos of the finalists will then be posted online at www.fi.edu/startrekwedding <http://www.fi.edu/startrekwedding> from July 6 - July 20, where the public can log on and vote for the pair they would most like to see get married in the Exhibition.   The couple with the highest number of votes on July 20 will be determined as the winner and the immediate planning will begin!

Produced by Premier Exhibitions, Inc. and licensed from CBS Consumer Products, STAR TREK: THE EXHIBITION is a 12,500 square foot interactive exhibition containing the world’s most comprehensive collection of authentic Star Trek ships, costumes and props from over 40 years of Star Trek.  Making its East Coast debut at The Franklin Institute, the exhibit runs through September 20, 2009.
