KYW 1060 reports that Pfizer is laying off 1,000 workers nationwide -- including 450 in Collegeville and 230 in Great Valley. "Pfizer spokesperson Gwen Fisher says the company is reducing their global workforce. Over 1,000 jobs are affected across the county: 'Collegeville is going to continue to be an important site for Pfizer, serving as the leadership center for one of our key business units, as well as for many other key functions that Pfizer has.'"
