Report Violation

1. Alan of CDOP in Illinois said... on Mar 30, 2011 at 12:31PM

“It's about time. I was sexually abused by a Catholic priest while I was an alter boy back in the sixties. I finally found out what emotional problems I had after I had lost my job and am now on social security disability. The priest that abused me was transferred from another parish where he had also sexually abused others. In fact during the investigations it became known that the diocese knew about sexual abuse by the priest prior to appointing him to the parish he was at before being moved to my parish. My parish even sent a delegation to meet with the CDOP bishop. He was eventually moved to another parish and them put on leave and sent to Florida. He later returned to the CDOP and was assigned duties which dealt with Vietnamese and Hispanic affairs. That must have been like a buffet for him. He also graduated from the same seminary in Missouri that at lest (2) other priests in Iowa that were involved in sexual abuse cases. Same MO is in effect today.”
