Just the Facts

Regarding Michael Fichman’s article about an app that follows the money behind campaign commercials:

I’d be more interested in an article detailing who these PACs are and who they’re funding. Who’s playing both sides? This article is too PR for me.

Picture Imperfect

Regarding Annamarya Scaccia’s story on photographer and recovering alcoholic Charlie O’Hay:

If you think that people get out of homelessness all the time, why don’t you take pictures of that? You get great photos of hurt, pain and everything you talk about goes against that. You profit and exploit what you go against? If everyone does have a name, why don’t you try and give them dignity too?

Don’t we already have enough people exploiting us. Jerk.

Charlie O’Hay’s response: The city’s DBHIDS and I are currently working together to do exactly that. Some of the people I’ve photographed in the street HAVE received help. In the near future, and with their permission, I look forward to photographing them in their new residences.

Photo Finish

In response to John Paul Titlow’s list of nine Philadelphians to follow on Instagram:

I think @heyrizzo deserves a shout out for his extensive and beautifully artistic coverage of street art. Consistently frequent updates, also.

Well-deserved honor for Douglas Bovitt. Good dude, good shots.

I just went through every one of the feeds. Two or three deserve to be here. There are way more Philly IGers that are more deserving and blow these feeds away. And yes, they are little guys. Cmon, really? One of the feeds was mostly of the dude’s cat.
