Philadelphians speak out soberly about the city's spreading crime epidemic.
Neighborhood: University City.
"I go to Penn and live alone. I don't walk alone at night, and I don't let my friends walk alone at night. The Dunkin' Donuts shooting scared me a lot. It seemed so blatant, getting shot in the head. If a cop gets shot in the head, what hope is there for the rest of us?"
Neighborhood: Homeless, Center City.
"I sleep in a park here. At nighttime I have my boyfriend, and we just pray to God and make sure things are all right with us. I keep away from all the dumb shit. I just thank God I'm living and breathing."
Neighborhood: North Philadelphia.
"I've been here for a year, and I see the crimes increasing. The cops are doing their best, but it's happening in public places. Dunkin' Donuts--a public place. From my point of view, I'm safe. From the view of my friends, it's not safe."
