Spring Into Action

Regarding last week’s Spring Guide feature on the Philadelphia Spinners:

I am totally willing to pay $14 a ticket to help support and promote Ultimate [Frisbee]. The thought of attending a professional Ultimate game where there will be hundreds, maybe thousands, of fans that appreciate the game as much as the person sitting next to them and share the knowledge that Ultimate is the fastest-growing sport in the world ... it doesn’t get any better than that, right? The icing would that be that maybe soon, just maybe, we won’t have to hear, “Ultimate Frisbee? That’s not a real sport, right?” ever again!

Yeah, the Sixers charge $10 for seats you can’t see the court from, all the way up to $174 for center court seats. The Spinners tickets are $14 to sit anywhere in Franklin Field. Seems like it would be worth a look.

Really, you should be comparing ticket prices to the Eagles, who have a similar number of home games as the Spinners: $14 a ticket is extremely reasonable if you ask me.

If you’ve never seen Ultimate played at an elite level, you’re in for quite a treat. Incredible display of athleticism, skill and passion. I already bought my season tickets.

Regarding John Sharkey III’s Phillies predictions:

Regarding Michael Alan Goldberg’s feature on the Philadelphia Union:

I beg to differ. It’s obvious that the biggest glaring change is MacMath in for Mondragon. He’s cost the Union three to four goals already out of five scored. LeToux maybe would have scored one, possibly two. Pajoy is already 1-1, with his head, off a cross, from a restart. I’m not mad about that one bit! We should have four points right now heading to Chicago if Zac kept his head in the game.

Corrections

In a March 21 story about a festival at the InterAct Theater Company, we misspelled the name of a writer/performer involved in one of the plays. The correct name is Paul S. Flores, not Paul S. Gomes.
