Enrique Iglesias
Insomniac (Interscope)

Described as: Enrique Iglesias has sold 40 million albums in a little more than a decade, becoming one of the most successful artists in the history of popular music. He's spent the past three years crafting his latest album.

At a glance: Enrique looks like he just got wasted at a wedding and forgot he had a photo shoot. He probably made out with every single woman at the wedding, including the bride and some grandmas. Why? He has to practice tongue love for his upcoming videos. Thank God Flavor Flav never used Enrique's video strategy.

Polyphonic Spree
The Fragile Army (TVT)

Described as: No one ever thought a '60s throwback with choral vocals and exuberant horn section wearing white robes cast off from Godspell would become a hit, but it has.

At a glance: Acid is bad. How many band members are there? They look like they got really high and showed up 30 years late to Woodstock. If your military calls itself "the fragile army," it probably sucks. Maybe the guy in the front lost his keys, and his friends are helping him find them. I guess MySpace is good for something.

David James performs Wed., June 20-Thurs., June 21, 8pm; and Fri., June 22-Sat., June 23, 8pm and 10:30pm. $15-$20. Helium Comedy Club, 2031 Sansom St. 215.496.9001. www.heliumcomedy.com
