Finally, a big thank-you to everyone who attended our Concerts in the Park series this year. It was another huge success, and this year marked the first where we opened it up American Idol -style to our readers, and let them vote for the opener each week. The response was overwhelming, and we’ll definitely keep that wrinkle next year.  

A big thank-you to the bands that played as well. Each did a stellar job. The Panic Years were panicky, Welcome to My Face welcomed people to their face, and Kurt Vile and the Violators violated. But to my mind, the show to catch was Writtenhouse (pictured), the Germantown rap crew who almost burned Rittenhouse to the ground with their infectious, kinetic bombast. These guys are going to be huge stars. Jump on the train now to say you did later. ■
