This song, also an instrumental, off Polvo’s last EP for Merge before jumping to T&G is simply gorgeous.  

“Right the Relation” 

In Prism 

I put this track up on our music blog, makemajormoves.com, about a month ago, and was asked to take it down by the label. They had a different song selected as the single, and didn’t want anything else from the album to leak. “Right the Relation” is the first track on In Prism , and it answers any questions you might have had about a band that took a decade off—“Have they lost the touch?”—by doing what they’ve always done on the first track of each of their albums: setting sail for your heart and dropping anchor once it gets there. (See also: “Fast Canoe.”) 

“Beggar’s Bowl”

In Prism ’s first single, “Beggar’s Bowl”—along with “Right the Relation”—is one of Polvo’s finest ever. Listen to it a few times and good luck trying to get Ash Bowie’s first line, “Everybody’s got a right to know, daytrippin’ at a quarter to noon!,” out of your head.
