Beastie Boys

Hot Sauce Committee Part Two

Sounds Like: The B-Boys’ first lyrical LP in seven years is bonkers good, mixing in elements of previously badass records, and charting new territory for white rapping.

Free Association: Ill since ‘86, Checkin’ Heads since ‘92, Nasty since ‘98—nobody like em’.

For Fans Of: Run DMC x Ramones, Tribe + Beck, heroes of hip-hop, Jews with flow.

Architecture In Helsinki

Moment Bends

Sounds Like: The Aussie quirk-pop collective drops some of the schoolyard kitsch and embraces their disco-inspired synth-pop side for a much-needed return to relevance

Free Association: After a public shaming for their last piece of shit, they turned it into gold!

For Fans Of: Los Campesinos! x Wham!, Culture Club, ‘80s love.

Sounds Like: Debut project from the Isles, mostly a guy from Teenage Fanclub, and one from Gorky’s Zygotic Mynci, specializing in psych-pop that’s melodic and a little country.

Free Association: Bet these guys love a good Austin Powers movie (and soundtrack).

For Fans Of: New Pornographers x Camera Obscura, birds, Union Jacks.

“Geron Hoy's "Soldier" is awesome. At least 4 songs on there that should be getting radio play time RIGHT NOW! This debut album is fantastic!”
