"An organic mixture of '60s singer-songwriters, '80s post punk and drunk-in-the-basement '90s indie rock. The transitions are fluid, and songs often rocket between extremes capriciously." Bio: Busses is a Philadelphia band. Drawing from the wells of classic rock, prog, jazz, and punk, their aim is to marry an eccentric approach to instrumentation with the comfort of a songwriter's voice. The results are anthemic, as well as swooning. Kinetic, while suspended. With Busses, rousing vocal melodies meander about shape-shifting guitars and a taut rhythm section. Sometimes they start off as a light sea-faring outing, but finish as a glorious hellfire train derailment. Other times, they sound like vintage rock n' roll vacationing in Barbados in some parallel future. Most times Busses just love finding places they won't forget, even if they can't remember how they got there. Singer/guitarist Dave Brett formerly fronted South Congress (of Philadelphia). Bassist Jason Bachman actively plays with a diverse number of acts in the city. Drummer Nick Apice is a former member of Persona (also of Philadelphia).
