While you may not recognize their name, chances are you’re one of the 250 million people who heard their entrancing version of Radiohead’s “Creep” last summer in the trailer for The Social Network. Tomorrow night, Scala & Kolacny Brothers will be bringing their beautifully haunting sound here to Philly. The group is comprised of Scala, an all-girl choir from Belgium, conducted by Stijn Kolacny and arranged and accompanied by brother, Steven on the piano. Since forming 1996, they’ve released five albums, featuring mostly covers from well-known musicians and bands such as The Cure, Depeche Mode, Muse, The Police and Nirvana. Even if you’re not normally a big fan of cover songs, the extraordinary vocals of the 18 member indie-rock choir will certainly give you chills. They might actually do “Smells Like Teen Spirit” better than Kurt Cobain. Seriously.
Tue/26. 8pm. $21-$24. The Trocadero, 1003 Arch St. 215.922.6888.
