Andrew Lipke
This is the Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band of music festivals, people! No, really. Now in it’s eighth year, the Northern Liberties Winter Music Festival at the Fire closes out a stellar week of performances by some of Philly’s brightest—Slo-Mo, the Hustle, Andrew Lipke, Orbit to Leslie, etc.—with four bands playing the Beatles’ classic in its entirety. Cheers Elephant, Canadian Invasion, Toy Soldiers and Oso aren’t waiting til they’re 64 to get by with a little help from their friends, nooo, they’re doing it this Sunday at 9 p.m. for only $8. (Sorry.) Anyway, the Festival started yesterday and continues through the 14th with the ambitious Pepper’s project, which you’ll probably confuse for the real deal anyway after enough of the Fire’s $2 Schmidt’s tall boys. (You’ve got a drinking problem.) After the snownami last weekend, you need to do yourself a solid and get out of the apartment.
Andrew Lipke also plays this week at the Northern Liberties festival. Listen to his song "On My Way."
