It’s not a big secret that this is going to be North Carolina hip-hop group Little Brother’s last hurrah. What was once the proud trio of MCs Phonte Coleman & Rapper Big Pooh and DJ/producer 9th Wonder soon dwindled to just Coleman and Pooh when Wonder started branching out, working with other performers (Jay-Z and Destiny’s Child, among others) and contributing less time to the group. Couple that with Coleman now devoting his energy to his R&B side project, the Grammy-nominated outfit the Foreign Exchange, and it’s safe to say that these cats will soon be a distant memory. Thankfully, with all the clever, funky, refreshing hip-hop these men dropped this past decade, Little Brother will always be a memory worth going back to.
