In Death Wish, Charles Bronson turns vigilante after his wife is murdered and his daughter is raped. While he’s regulating the streets, he doesn’t stop to eat once. Not even a snack. On his debut, Dr. Lecter, New York MC Action Bronson dines about 100 times. There are tunes titled “Jerk Chicken” and “Brunch,” where he enjoys a “salad crumbled with bleu cheese and bacon.” His insatiable appetite’s partly driven by the many blunts he smokes—“As it burns my thumb, I roll another one,” he brags on “Barry Horowitz”—but it’s mostly because the Queens carnivore’s a straight up-foodie. Dude also chefs, and you can get schooled by his YouTube cooking series “Action In the Kitchen.” On the mic his flow’s eternal, his storytelling Scorsesean.
Thurs., Sept. 15, 8pm. $18. With Fel Sweetenberg + Burke The Jurke. Trocadero, 1003 Arch St. 215.922.6888. thetroc.com
