Jupiter Rising
The Quiet Hype (Chime)

As vapid as a marathon of The Hills, but not as entertaining—“Prada bag, Gucci shoes, Louis V., Jimmy Choos” vocalist Jessie Payo sings without irony on “L.A. Girls”—Hype deserves to die an agonizing death at the hands of the Greatest Depression.

The Whore Moans
Hello From the Radio Wasteland (Mt. Fuji)

The Whore Moans swagger is Mick Jagger, but they couch it in a throat-destroying caterwaul that would give the Blood Brothers (RIP!) a run for their money. The result is a glorious, speed-injected hybrid that’ll make your eardrums beg for mercy. Shit name, though.

Duff McKagan’s Loaded
Sick (Century Media)

Former Guns N’ Roses junkie Duff McKagan stopped using long ago due to a failing liver. His new 12-step program: 1. Insert Sick. 2. Press play. 3. Listen. 4. Skip. 5. Listen. 6. Sigh. 7. Listen. 8. Skip. 9. Listen. 10. Wince. 11. Eject. 12. Ignore.
