Fullerton, California's, Cold War Kids make music with (plural noun) that go deep and (adjective), embracing influences as diverse as Bob Dylan, Billie Holiday, (name of congressman) and (name of sports drink). The Kids began crafting their soulful, (adjective)-inflected take on indie rock in 2004, recording demos in (name of city) soon after they formed. After signing to Monarchy Music, they released their debut EP Mulberry Street in (year). The band's (adjective) sound and impassioned live (noun) generated a buzz--particularly from bloggers--that grew with each tour and release. Their latest, Loyalty to Loyalty--which saw the band move in a (adjective), bluesier direction--was released in 2008.
