Welcome to the massive tour led by wanky Canadian rapper Drake. Reports from the road have said the Canuck decorates with candles and throw pillows backstage at each venue, which is exactly the sorta thing that’s gonna make Drake haters hate Drake even more. He’s also dragging along Georgia rapper 2 Chainz, whose elevation within the rap hierarchy is baffling considering how boring he is, and French Montana, the second weakest rapper on Rick Ross’s Maybach Music Group, after Wale. But fear not, because two of the most inimitable rappers rapping nowadays are also on the gig: Atlanta’s Waka Flocka Flame and Philly’s own Meek Mill. Flocka’s mixtapes, like last year’s impeccable LeBron Flocka James 3, are so damn powerful that even a sad bro like Drake probably gets punchy listening to ’em. And Meek, whose 1-month-old Dreamchasers 2 mixtape has already been downloaded more than three million times, is Philadelphia’s undisputed heavyweight-champion-of-the-moment.
