For Fans Of: Nirvana/Fugazi + Unwound, Tapes ’n’ Tapes, classic punk revised.

Sounds Like: Virginia’s reigning death metal royalty spit out another strong LP of bone-crushing, face-melting, relentless and morbid music that’ll give you nightmares.

Free Association: CAN’T STOP LIVIN’ IN THE RED.

For Fans Of: Pantera + Mastadon, Slayer/Sabbath, bloody barf-fueled headbanging.

 

Nada Surf

The Stars Are Indifferent to Astronomy

(Barsuk/City Slang)

Sounds Like: Celebrating a 20th anniversary with their seventh studio LP, the forever-known-for-“Popular” guys are far more than that with shimmery glam power rock.

Free Association: The ’90s were better with these guys in them (and Weezer and Cake).
