We can be all snobby and say we have no idea how those wacky haired, electro-pop rappers known as LMFAO have managed to become so popular. But we know exactly why. Apart from the fact that these two dudes come from music-industry royalty (Redfoo is the son of Motown founder Berry Gordy, while SkyBlu is Gordy’s grandson), these men provide jumping party jams for drunken, bi-curious co-eds and douchebags in Affliction T-shirts (we’re assuming they’re also drunk) all over this great land. Let’s face it: Those assholes need music, and they can’t listen to Far East Movement all the time. So, here comes Redfoo and SkyBlu to the rescue, with their garish clothes, shuffling dance moves and catchy party rock anthems. (One of them just happens to be called “Party Rock Anthem,” by the way.) Whether they know it or not, LMFAO provides essential music for the Four Loko generation. (Craig D. Lindsey)
