Looking for a Best Friend? Check out PAWS!

PAWS, the Philadelphia Animal Welfare Society, is a donor-funded division of the Philadelphia Animal Care and Control Association (PACCA), the organization contracted to provide animal control services for the City of Philadelphia. PAWS is dedicated to saving the lives of Philadelphia’s homeless, abandoned, and unwanted animals. Taking in nearly 30,000 animals per year and operating the highest volume shelter in the region, PAWS is working to end the needless killing of Philadelphia's animals. PAWS’ lifesaving efforts, aimed at making Philadelphia a city in which every healthy and treatable pet is guaranteed a home, include: adoption, foster care, rescue, spay/neuter services, low-cost vaccinations, and other forms of community outreach. These activities depend on the generosity of caring volunteers and donors. PAWS adopts out animals seven days a week at two locations: its main shelter at 111 W. Hunting Park Avenue, and its downtown adoption center at 100 N. 2nd Street (on the corner of 2nd & Arch in Old City). For more information, please visit: www.phillypaws.org.
