Vintage focuses on wine and the food that it complements. It offers over sixty wines by the glass and another twenty or so by the bottle. The wines represent regions, countries and varietals from around the world chosen for their taste and character. Wine flights, that allow you to taste three, three ounce pours, from the constantly changing selections, are also offered. Cocktails and a broad array of international beers are offered to additionally complement a phenomenal eclectic continentally focused menu. There are constantly changing wine and beer specials. The chalkboard menu has ever changing entrée items that reflect seasonal ingredients and allows the chef to explore different countries and regions. Best of all, Vintage uses the freshest local ingredients to prepare their food.
From the wall of crosshatched corks to the Vin Marshall chandelier of empty bottles, Vintage isn't ashamed to wear its tastes on its sleeve. The 80-by-bottle, 60-by-glass wine list at this Midtown Village grape escape is smartly composed by sommelier Delphine Evenchik, who co-owns Vintage with hubby Jason, and features an interesting, super-affordable selection. We dig the choices from the "Unusual and Exciting" section, such as apricotty Covey Run Gewrztraminer and berrylicious Colle dei Venti Dolcetto D'Alba, generously poured from a state-of-the-art Cuvinet without any of the pomp or pretense served up at other so-called wine bars. Ask the bartender for pairing suggestions to go along with Vintage's brasserie menu of pates, cheeses and one hell of an Angus burger.
