Vegucated

Media Title

Marisa Miller Wolfson’s doc about three people going vegan for six weeks is like Super Size Me in reverse. The first-time director’s guinea pigs are a college student who hates veggies, a bartender who rarely cooks and a single mom juggling her day job as a therapist with her budding career in stand-up. Wolfson knows the challenges first-hand: The perky Midwesterner was herself a corn-fed Hoosier hungry for pork chops until watching a documentary about animal agriculture led her to become vegan. After the screening, attendees curious to learn more can snack on vegan treats courtesy of Whole Foods while chatting with representatives from Mobilization for Animals and 22reasons. -Raymond Simon
