Texas Is the Reason

There’s something about that post-hardcore emo sound that can make you pissed off and nostalgic at the same time: pissed off because of the bubblegum pop-core its predecessors have become and nostalgic for outfits like Jawbreaker, Texas is the Reason and the Promise Ring, who seemed to know something none of us did for a while. Luckily, one of those bands, the New York-based Texas is the Reason, has reunited, for only the second time in 15 years (they played two N.Y.C. shows in 2006) and will be bringing that ‘90s vibe to Union Transfer tonight. They’re celebrating the release of Do You Know Who You Are?: The Complete Collection—namely, one full-length (of the same name) and a few EPs.  / RANDY LOBASSO
