Once upon a time, there lived a man named Don Russell. An award-winning journalist, his work brought about lots of cool things, including environmental racketeering prosecution, reform of the Philly taxicab industry and the closure of a county jail. Then Joe Sixpack emerged, one of America’s most beloved beer writers. The book author, Daily News columnist and Philly Beer Week executive director has become synonymous with everyone’s favorite nectar. So who better to be the subject of Prohibition Taproom’s second annual holiday roast than the man of both names. Featured roasters include Glen Macnow, Bob Warner, Tom Peters, Tom Kehoe, Curt Decker, Ron Goldwyn and more. A portion of the proceeds will be donated to Philabundance, for which Prohibition Taproom is an official drop-off point for food donations. -Anthony Trivelli
