The Nutcracker gets a makeover with the Rappin’ SugarPlum Fairy in the Kingdom of Prussia. This Philly rendition of the famous Nutcracker ballet titled Philly-Nutt-Crak-Up with her Hip Hoppin’ Rats, City Hall Dolls, Captain Philadelphia and Liberty Belle-Anne for another season of their holiday dance spoof that combines comedy, hip-hop, jazz and modern ballet. Be prepared for references to all things Philly—whether they’re places or personalities, in this story filled with kung-fu fighting—superheroes and making friends. Produced by ContempraDance Theatre, Philly-Nutt-Crak-Up has been entertaining and amusing audiences since 2002.  It’s the perfectly hilarious way to include in this year’s holiday season. -T.P.
