Local Music Day

Mixing local music and local businesses makes for a great opportunity for Philadelphians to discover new things. Today, various businesses throughout the city will be playing the music of five local bands all day long. The goal is to encourage Philadelphians to support the city’s local culture and economy. Stop by places like Federal Donuts, Honey’s Sit ‘n Eat, Johnny Brenda’s, Repo Records, Trophy Bikes North and many more to rock out to music from Work Drugs, Buried Beds, the Extraordinaires, Cheers Elephant and Bandname. Each venue will give out download cards featuring a song from each band. At 1 p.m., The Extraordinaires will play live at The Rocket Cat with a few other to-be-announced local musicians. -Brenda Hillegas
