It’s not everyday that local independent bands trying to make it get to come together and slap each other on the back in artistic congratulations. For the first time, the Tri State Indie Awards will celebrate the best of the Philadelphia area music scene. Awards include nods to indie bands, festivals and venues and winners are determined by popular online vote. Categories include Best New Americana/Folk Band, Best New Indie Rock Band, Best New Venue, Best Regional Festival, Best Philly Indie Band, and awards for bands/artist of the year for New Jersey, Delaware and Maryland as well as kudos for national touring bands and cover artwork.
