Director Heddy Honigmann introduces us to the Highland Inca people of Peru, many of whom have relocated to the capital city of Lima. In this highly original film, their stories offer startlingly personal views of recent political history and the effect of emigration on their lives. After the movie, Ann Farnsworth-Alvear, Professor, Penn Latin American and Latino Studies, leads audience members in a discussion about people at the fringes of Peruvian society, exploring what a compassionate view of them can reveal. Cosponsored by Penn Latin American and Latino Studies and Penn Cinema Studies.
