East Coast Power Nap

Hosted by local comedy duo TJ Hurley (“the brains”) and Alejandro Morales (“the looks”), this inaugural, potentially-bimonthly stand-up showcase will present a curated lineup of seven homegrown talents, each of whom have made a name for themselves in the Philly comedy scene and bring a very distinct personality to the table. Tonight, this includes the always lovely Ms. Carolyn Busa, the always awkward Mr. Doogie Horner and Jimmy Viola as his strange but hilarious black-metal warrior comedy alter-ego, The Necrosexual. In between each set, Hurley and Morales will perform their own routines, as well as some scripted banter and sketches. If you’re wondering about the title, no, it’s not suggesting that you’re going to be lulled to sleep. Rather, it’s a play on a skateboarding move jokingly dubbed the “East Coast Power Tap.”  —Nicole Finkbiner
