JOSHUA PEUGH – Company Premiere Slump + World Premiere
Joshua L. Peugh is Artistic Director of Dark Circles Contemporary Dance and an Adjunct Lecturer of Dance Composition at Southern Methodist University. In 2006, Joshua moved to South Korea to join Universal Ballet Company where he performed soloist and featured roles in the works of Ohad Naharin, Christopher Wheeldon and others. After two and a half years with the company, Joshua left UBC and founded his own company, Dark Circles Contemporary Dance, in Seoul. Since then, he has created work for festivals all over Asia and North America and served as Associate Choreographer for Bruce Wood Dance Project. His most recent works are White Elephant, Slump, and Cosmic Sword. Joshua lives in Dallas, Texas. He makes his BalletX debut at Winter Series 2014 with Slump, “a comedy of frivolous, sexually provocative manners” (Manuel Mendoza, Dallas Morning News) set to Klezmer, jazz, and mambo music, as well as a world premiere pas de deux.

JAMES GREGG – World Premiere
James Gregg was raised in Oklahoma and started dancing at the age of 9. He trained with Ballet Oklahoma, Houston Ballet, Bolshoi Ballet Academy, The Edge Performing Arts Center (LA), and Lou Conte Dance Studio. James moved to Chicago to dance with River North Chicago Dance Company in 1999. He was with RNCDC for several years before moving to Montréal, where he is currently dancing with Les Ballet Jazz de Montréal. He has performed the works of many renowned choreographers including Aszure Barton, Mauro Bigonzetti, Frank Chaves, Danny Ezralow, Harrison McEldowney, Mia Michaels, Annabelle Lopez Ochoa, Rodrigo Pedernieras, Crystal Pite, and Edgar Zendajas. James started choreographing as a youngster in school but really found his passion when he arrived in Chicago, where he dove into working with different dancers and companies. He has set works on River North Chicago Dance Company, Northwest Dance Project's Pretty Creatives Competition, Les Ballet Jazz Workshop, and for Springboard Danse Project.  James won the 2011 International Choreographic Compeitition at Festival des Arts de Saint-Sauveur for his piece Radio Kids.

JODIE GATES – Delicate Balance (2012)
Choreographer, director, educator, producer, and dancer Jodie Gates has danced as principal ballerina with Joffrey Ballet, Frankfurt Ballet, Pennsylvania Ballet, and as an international guest artist. She has choreographed work for companies across the world, including Staatsballett Berlin (Germany), Colorado Ballet, Ballet West, Complexions Contemporary Ballet, American Ballet Theatre II, CorbinDances, The Juilliard School, Washington Ballet, and Cedar Lake Contemporary Ballet, among others. She is also responsible for teaching, staging, and producing William Forsythe’s ballets world-wide, including productions at Paris Opera Ballet, Scottish Ballet, San Francisco Ballet, Zurich Opera Ballet, Teatro La Scala, Pennsylvania Ballet, and Aspen Santa Fe Ballet, among others. She is the founder and artistic director of the award-winning Laguna Dance Festival, based in Southern California. In 2013, Jodie was named vice dean and director of the new USC Kaufman School of Dance. In Delicate Balance, first premiered by BalletX in Spring 2012, Jodie takes on a journey of driving force and stunning intricacy, culminating in one of the company’s most tender and heartwarming duets.
