The Civil Rights Movement: Redefining the Meaning of Equality

Media Title

Steven Calabresi and Tomiko Brown-Nagin join Bruce Ackerman to discuss how the civil rights movement amounted to a genuine revolution in constitutional law, focusing on the landmark statutes of the 1960s: the Civil Rights Act of 1964, the Voting Rights Act of 1965, and the Fair Housing Act of 1968. A book sale and signing with Ackerman will follow the program. This program is part of the National Constitution Center’s commemoration of the 50th anniversary of the Civil Rights Act of 1964.
