Echoes of their Wings

Media Title

On September 1, 1914 the world's last passenger pigeon, Martha, died at the Cincinnati Zoo. How did this species, once the most abundant bird in North America and possibly the world, disappear in a few decades? In this special program, Joel Greenberg, author of the new book “A Feathered River Across the Sky: The Passenger Pigeon's Flight to Extinction” will discuss the fascinating story of the passenger pigeon, highlight lessons learned and explore what is says about our relationship to the natural world.
