Informed by old school soul, funk, and jazz, The Sermon! is a funky quartet from the borough of West Chester, PA. Taking their name from the classic Jimmy Smith record, The Sermon! is primarily an instrumental, Hammond B-3 organ-driven group influenced by the stylings of Grant Green, Lonnie Smith, James Brown, Soulive, Bill Withers, MMW, and others. Climactic live performances are a staple to the band's high energy stage presence.
