A tu Corazón

“A tu Corazón – Canciones y Dansas”(To Your Heart ~ Songs and Dances) Tracing four centuries of world exploration through song that spouts from Spain A concert of diverse Spanish Songs with Hispanic operatic artists: Early Spanish folk music laced with haunting Middle Eastern ornamentation of the Moors and the Sephardic Jews; the development of Zarzuela (Spanish operetta); Mexican song with influences of the Mayans; African rhythms mixing with Spanish in Cuba and Columbia, and the influence of dance. “Think of the kinesthetic energy of Flamenco, the magical landscape of Gabriel García Márquez, the Spanish guitar of Segovia, the poetry of Lorca and Neruda, the tenor of Jose Carreras and then throw in Cuban cigars – That is Spanish Song” says Co-Founding Director, Suzanne DuPlantis.
