Shale Gas Outrage Rally 2012
Join concerned citizen from Philadelphia and through out PA on September 20th & 21st at a major protest to protect our land, water and human health from detrimental fracking practices. On September 20th, we will rally outside the shale gas development industry’s planning conference to demand that these companies and our elected officials do not frack in our watershed, jeopardizing the Delaware River and Philadelphia's drinking water. Speakers and performers at the Rally will include: Bill McKibben, President and Co-founder of 350.org; Author Sandra Steingraber, PhD, Ecologist, Author, Winner of Heinz Award Josh Fox, Director of Gasland and The Sky is Pink Maya van Rossum, The Delaware Riverkeeper Stephen Cleghorn, PhD, Organic farmer, researcher, advocate Stewart Acuff, Lifelong labor organizer, utility workers' sector, author Wenonah Hauter, Executive Director of Food and Water Watch Doug Shields, Champion of Pittsburgh's fracking ban, former City Councilman Rev. Rhetta Morgan; Freebo, long-time bassist for Bonnie Raitt
