We love beer. That's why we're devoting an entire year to discovering (and drinking) cold ones from near and far. Know of a beer worth shouting out? Send us a note at tips@philadelphiaweekly.com.

The name will leave you tongue-tied and the taste will leave you with tongue fatigue. In other words, this is a Stone beer. Grapefruit Slam IPA is an unapologetically aggressive double IPA, with blistering, resinous hop flavor and hard-hitting booze. Many hop varieties naturally give off grapefruit-like aromas and flavors, so the addition of grapefruit peel to this brew doesn’t make it fruity, it enhances the ruinous bitterness to levels you’ll find in few other beers. Couple this bitter boldness with huge aromatics and you have an IPA built for people who like their beers to smack them in the face. Not for the faint of heart! Try it at Fox and Hound, Pinocchio’s and Capone’s.
