We love beer. That's why we're devoting an entire year to discovering (and drinking) cold ones from near and far. Know of a beer worth shouting out? Send us a note at tips@philadelphiaweekly.com.

For the next few days we’re taking a peek at the biggest buzz in craft beer, Sierra Nevada’s Beer Camp collaboration with 12 other breweries. Maillard’s Odyssey pairs up the legendary Sierra Nevada with the nearly as legendary Bell’s Brewery out of Michigan for a hefty imperial black ale. Bell’s knows their way around a dark beer—their Special Double Cream Stout—so this pairing is a good one. This jet black beer is a veritable swamp of charred molasses, burnt sugar, and chocolate-dipped tobacco. Some oily, coffee-like bitterness offsets the sweetness, but don’t expect a lot of hops - this beer is a showcase for dark malts.  This one-time only brew can be sampled at London Grill and Victory Beer Hall.
