We love beer. That's why we're devoting an entire year to discovering (and drinking) cold ones from near and far. Know of a beer worth shouting out? Send us a note at firstname.lastname@example.org.
The Boston Beer Co. built their early reputation on brewing classic German and Bavarian beer styles, so it’s appropriate that they are finally trying their hand at a Berliner weisse, a light, tart style of beer that has long been a favorite in Berlin but that is only now gaining traction in the United States. While other takes on this style can be aggressively tart, such as the Bruery’s Hottenroth, Samuel Adams aims for a more subdued, approachable take on this refreshing style of beer. This pale, hazy brew boasts touches of wheat, lemon, and lemongrass, and with a slightly tart kiss at the finish to give it a thirst-quenching edge. It’s the sort of beer that begs to be in cans for the summer, but this limited brew is draft only. Get a pint at The Strip Joint.
