It’s hard to believe the folks at Great Divide have been doing it for 20 years. Though arguably best known for their massive series of Yeti, they do a number of other excellent beers, too, so it shouldn’t be altogether surprising that their 20th anniversary beer bucks the “big barrel-aged stout” trend when it comes to special release beers. This is a big Belgian-style golden ale with a frothy head that seems to last forever, big aromas of peachy yeast, and tastes of vibrant grass, citrus, and banana bread. The dry finish offers touches of apricot and just a hint of bitterness, and the fairly strong alcohol content is well-hidden (helped in part by the champagne-like carbonation).
