We love beer. That's why we're devoting an entire year to discovering (and drinking) cold ones from near and far. Know of a beer worth shouting out? Send us a note at firstname.lastname@example.org.
A classic example of a classic German beer style, Franziskaner’s take on the hefeweizen is one of the world’s very best. You can tell from the pour that this is something special. The beer is cloudy as a rainy autumn day and the head is like a fat pile of whipped cream. As expected, the glass gives off big aromas of banana with just a hint of clove, along with subtle spice. Each swallow is creamy, full and perfect. Sweet peaches and banana, fruity cream of wheat, and fresh muffins are present in each sip. Soft herbal hops provide minor bitterness to add balance, but not so much that hints of orange citrus don’t show through. This is what hefes should be.
