We love beer. That's why we're devoting an entire year to discovering (and drinking) cold ones from near and far. Know of a beer worth shouting out? Send us a note at email@example.com.
Trying to figure out ways to marry the best of beer with wine, cider, and other fermented spirits. Dogfish Head has been on a hybrid kick the last few years. Its Noble Rot follows that trend by blending a traditional Belgian-style saison with a fruity white wine. The combination is a drink unlike anything else out there. The earthy, herbal beer portion of this beverage has enough grassy funk to remind you that it’s part saison, but the fermented grapes turn this brew on its head. Fruity and slightly sour, it reminds wine drinkers of a Sauvignon blanc or pinot gris (with gentle carbonation). A touch of warming alcohol accents the whole package and makes this a perfect beer to pair with dinner. Try it at Monk’s Café.
