Another of the core classic German Oktoberfest beers, Ayinger’s take on this traditional style has a bigger, bolder body than its brethren, yet still manages to drink easy as pie—which is good, considering it's traditionally served a liter at a time in gigantic steins! Like all traditional marzens, this beer boasts a slight sweetness tinged with tastes of toffee, bread and toasted pumpernickel. This is balanced by herbal, almost flowery hops and a finish that's surprisingly dry for a beer with this body and sweetness. Those used to the BIG & LOUD of American craft beer may be underwhelmed, but those who appreciate the fine art of brewing a perfectly balanced, flavorful yet easy drinking beer will recognize this for the world-class brew it is. Ayinger Oktoberfest Marzen is all over the place, including at Iron Abbey, City Tap House, Race Street, and many others.
