We love beer. That's why we're devoting an entire year to discovering (and drinking) cold ones from near and far. Know of a beer worth shouting out? Send us a note at firstname.lastname@example.org.
The India Pale Ale, or IPA, is ubiquitous in American craft beer, partly because even the most approachable of IPAs refuse to compromise when it comes to bold, in-your-face flavor. Avery’s entry in the category holds fast to the flavor commitment, packing a punch of hops that bring to mind fresh-peeled grapefruit and mango with light hints of floral aromatics. Notes of caramel sweetness make a respectable attempt to balance out those hops, but bitterness still reigns supreme. A fresh glass offers a welcome attack of those tasty green cones and makes this a real treat for hopheads in particular. Track it down right now at Iron Abbey.
