We love beer. That's why we're devoting an entire year to discovering (and drinking) cold ones from near and far. Know of a beer worth shouting out? Send us a note.
Over the last few years, Stone has produced a series of eclectic collaborations that have been as tasty as they have been offbeat. Green tea IPAs, chocolate cherry stouts and more have delighted our senses and challenged our taste buds. The most recent is Suede, an imperial porter co-created with 10 Barrel Brewing Company and Blue Jacket. There's a roasty, chocolate-tinged porter here, but in order to find it you’ll have to get past the potpourri of calendula flowers, jasmine and honey that dominate both the flavor and aroma. This beer is smooth as velvet, with the bitter roast only just keeping the fragrant flowers in check. Honey sweetness kisses the back end, along with just a touch of chocolate; it’s not quite like anything you’ve had before. In the coming weeks, watch for Suede to start appearing on draft anyplace that taps Stone beers.
