We love beer. That's why we're devoting an entire year to discovering (and drinking) cold ones from near and far. Know of a beer worth shouting out? Send us a note.
There is one style of beer that was invented not by brewing, but by advertising: the “island style lager.” It’s a light lager just like the others that dominate the market — you know the umpteen variations by Miller, Coors, and Budweiser — but by gosh, this is island style, man! Which is to say, “Put a lime in it, because we sure wish we were Corona.” And that’s what Landshark is. It is Anheuser-Busch’s answer to Corona, to the point where it's even served in clear bottles (even though clear bottles suck for beer) and “traditionally” with a slice of lime. To their credit, it does the job admirably, and at a lower price. This beer does drink easy on a hot summer day. But don’t go bragging to mama about drinking it. Landshark Lager is widely available.
