If you want a traditional winter beer made especially for the holidays, Harpoon Winter Warmer will do you right. This deep copper brown beer reminds you of a Scotch Ale, with raisin- and bread-soaked sweetness and just a hint of astringent smokiness giving it a full flavor. This is a winter warmer, though, so it gets winterized with a healthy dose of those holiday spices, too. You won’t have to work hard to notice the cinnamon and nutmeg, and with the bready body, this beer will probably remind you of chocolate covered Christmas cookies (and if that doesn’t kick up your holiday cheer, have another one). It’s being served at For Pete’s Sake, Tattooed Mom, Redwood and Pitchers Pub.
